From the author:
Like I did with SCARS and HUNTED, I drew on some of my own experiences of bullying, abuse, and trauma to write STAINED and to give it greater emotional depth. Like Sarah in STAINED, I experienced abduction, imprisonment, periods of forced starvation, mind control, and having my life threatened. And like Sarah, I tried hard to fight against my abuser, keep my own sense of self, and escape. I hope readers will see Sarah's strength and courage, and appreciate her emotional growth as she reclaims herself.

 Imposter

Genre: Erotica
Format: Kindle Ebook
Acquired: Freebie of Amazon

Synopsis:
An erotic short story.

Mandy's stepbrother Brandon discovers her having cybersex with her online friend. Soon after, she meets a new guy online, but when she realizes it's her brother, checking up on her, she decides to put him to the test to see how far he's willing to go. How close will these step-siblings become, and will their online lust lead to real life passion?

WARNING: This story describes graphic and detailed sex between step-siblings, and some mild violence. If this type of thing bothers you, you should resist the urge to download it, even if it's free.

Quick Thoughts: Makes you think and is hot in the sheets.

Ah this brings me back to my youth. Not the sexy, caring older step brother, but the obsession I had with the internet and how it awakened me to the danger and reality of the real world and to the world of cyber sex which for good or bad taught me a lot about myself. So when totally I started reading Imposter I could totally relate to Mandy and her thoughts about the mysterious and delicious sexy Bobby who she has never seen and who lives over the other side of the world. I too had a special someone, and that temptation is strong. The short story starts off with Mandy cybering with her special pal. I was ready to throw the book at the wall with the use of terrible txt grammar but then I realized hey that is the culture and this is not meant to be a literary masterpiece. So with that I cast all thoughts aside and indulged in this story.

I am not sure that I would be so willing and in the mood after what happened to Mandy during the ending of the book. But the twist was fantastic and I really enjoyed the ending of this book despite staying awake until 3am just to find out what the hell was going to go down.

Overall this was a fast read that caught my attention and made me ask a lot of questions as well as reflect on my past and consider the present and the danger of the internet. I really liked that there was a message intertwined with this sweet erotic story and if you like to read something a little different than just porn then try this one for sure. It is free, so why not.

Deliberate Display - An Collection of Five Erotic Stories by Various Authors

0

 Explicit content: Adults Only.

Pages: 53
Published: Xcite Books (January 22, 2013)
Genre: Erotica. Anthology
Format: Kindle Ebook
Acquired: Amazon Kindle
Date Finished: January 30th 2013

Synopsis: An Xcite Books collection of five erotic stories with mixed themes including menage, threesome, bisexual, heterosexual, wife-watching, science fiction/fantasy, interracial, neighbours, male stripper and masturbation.

Quick Thoughts:  Do not read on public transport. Things may become awkward in your pants.
This was a quick, hot, fun anthology of naughty stories that made my dreary Sunday train ride much more exiting. With five authors to pick and choose from or to read through them all there is a little something for everyone in Deliberate Display. While I struggle a lot with finding a good collection of erotic stories this one did not disappoint.

With Four out of Five being just what I wanted to read, and two out of those being saucy enough to make me consider doing something inappropriate on public transport [hehe] Deliberate Display holds a place in my list of fantastic anthologies. What I love about this too is the little taste of each authors writing style. My favorite being Abigail Thorton as her tale of a bisexual rendezvous was deliciously written and had me wanting more.

The best part about this ebook is that is free on amazon if you click here. You can also find a mini synopsis for each story with the amazon link but here: Pick Me Up Here. Below are the titles and authors features in Deliberate Display.

The following stories included are: Deliberate Display by Abigail Thornton, The Convent Girls’ Tale by Marlene Yong, Going Native by John McKeown, Laundry Day by Sommer Marsden and Private Performance by Lucy Felthouse.

Overall this gets a definite thumbs up in my opinion and I cannot wait to check out these authors. The only story I disliked and wished it would end after the first few pages was Going Native. It just felt terribly out of place and was rather dull and confusing.

Quick thoughts:  Sexy and fast paced.  A fantastic duo. I loved it.

This short, fiery, erotic read was a fantastic way to spent a few minutes indulging in some fantasy’s while waiting the doctor’s office. Set in my own homeland, Australia and Melbourne none the less I dell straight into the story and really loved that this story had a great story behind the characters and wasn’t just Wham Bam porn.  The tension created was well paced and I found myself biting my lip one too many times. Coralle [or lee unless you want to be slapped with her pistol lol] and Fox were a great duo that bounced of each other and collided in delicious ways. Well worth the read, and a fantastic introduction to Nicola’s writing style which is fast, fun, sexy and leaves you sated and yet wanting more from her.

Tigers Curse - Collen Houck

 Pages: 501
Published: January 11th 2011 by Sterling
Genre: Fantasy/ Y.A
Format: Paperback
Acquired: My TBR Bookshelf
Date Finished: January 28th 2013

Synopsis:

The last thing Kelsey Hayes thought she’d be doing this summer was trying to break a 300-year-old Indian curse. With a mysterious white tiger named Ren. Halfway around the world. But that’s exactly what happened. Face-to-face with dark forces, spellbinding magic, and mystical worlds where nothing is what it seems, Kelsey risks everything to piece together an ancient prophecy that could break the curse forever.

Tiger’s Curse is the exciting first volume in an epic fantasy-romance that will leave you breathless and yearning for more.

Quick Thoughts: Superb Mythology and a fantastic start to the series.

Passion. Fate. Loyalty.

Would you risk it all to change your destiny?

A hell yeah, that is why when I looked at my bookshelf I knew that I could not hold of reading it for too much longer.

Chosen as December’s choice for the Richard Denney book club, I picked up Tigers Curse with excitement and was looking forward to reading along and discussing the book in due time. Almost two months later and it has been a long journey, much like Kelsey’s and Ren’s and while the first book is over I can safely say that I will be reading the rest of the series. I fell in instant love with Tigers Curse and for the first few days of reading it I was in a high. It encompassed so many facets of what I love about a good fantasy read, and so much more, and despite me jumping in and out it over the past few weeks when I did read it 98% of the time I didn’t want to do anything else.

I pretty much melted for Ren from the get go. I used to love Tigers as a child and I remember doing numerous assignments based on different kinds of tigers. There is something so majestic and entrancing about them and I think if I was to sum up Ren that would definitely not do him justice. He is a flawed creature- both Tiger and Man and I enjoyed getting to know both sides of Ren through Kelsey’s eyes and revisiting his past through getting to know Mr Kidham, who is a fantastic character and Kishan. I also loved the fact that he had limited time as a man. I could not imagine how painful it would be to only have those fleeting moments as a human and to have them stripped away; as someone who craves the human touch it pained me to see Ren battling against his man and Tiger form.

The best part of this novel was the experience through India. From the plan landing there is non-stop action and I felt like a backpacker traveling throughout the land learning about the language, the geography and the fantastic mythology that Colleen blended into the story superbly. Tigers curse was rich with description that took me there and allowed me to immerse myself fully in a land I would love to get lost in [despite the freaking and evil creatures lurking] I also fell in love with the story behind Ren’s curse and what that meant for Ren, Kelsey, Mr Kidham and Kishan. I am a sucker for amulets and temples and all creatures big and small.

The only real problem I had with Tigers Curse was Kelsey’s attitude towards the end, especially towards Ren. For the entire book there was a fantastic build up of tension between the two of them, and I for one greatly enjoyed the journey of that build up and then she did a 180 and turned into a nasty piece of work with no real reason aside from her need to protect her heart. I just didn’t buy it and was disappointed in her. I had heard from many reviews that Kelsey was an immature character who annoyed the shit out of people and up until that certain point I was thinking, what the hell I think she is mature and acting well above her age. I mean she is a strong minded character to start with, and she is loyal and fierce when she wants to be, and she has so much compassion and love in her heart. The way she responds to her destiny was fantastic and I was freaking loving the journey from the circus life to the underground kingdoms and everything between, but then I wanted to throw the book across the room or at least slap her.

However I continued to read onwards towards the ending and it was in those few final pages that I could truly understand her actions and once again I fell in love with the romance that sparked between Ren and Kelsey

I think my biggest downfall about reading Tiger’s Curse was that I kept putting it down. It is certainly a book to read all the way through and to read nothing in between to fully immerse yourself in the fantastic story Colleen has created.  It deserves anyone’s full attention and for those of you wondering whether or not to give Tigers Curse a try I certainly urge you to pick it up. It is a fantastic first installment to a series I am sure to love and devour and I cannot wait to continue with it.
